How it rates

Scored out of ten from documented facts only — court counts, ranking lists, published fee and sponsor requirements. Nothing here is an opinion poll, and a category the club has not documented is left blank rather than guessed at.

  • · Club-supplied figures in a 2024 GSI recruiter profile. Rye NY confirmed in the document, not the Boynton Beach FL club of the same name. 1,600 memberships, $45M gross, average member age 58.
  • · Poster states he is currently sponsoring an applicant, which is the strongest standing of any forum account we have for this club. Recent (2024). Not corroborated by any document, and the club publishes nothing.
  • · Self-identified member, but the account is from 2021 and the figure is inconsistent with both the 2024 forum report and our better-sourced figure. Dues shown as the midpoint of a stated $10-15k range.

Unverified accounts from members and applicants on public forums. Treat every figure here as hearsay, not fact.

It's 155k to join. The guy above quoted dues a little low. It's probably in the 22k area. Yearly is 19k+ monthly extras. The waitlist is currently closed so you can even start the process to join (aka don't bother now). Im currently sponsoring someone that joined before the shutdown of new members. They were quoting 5 years at the time of shutdown. A heard a few weeks ago a family got in after 10 years of being on the list.

One thing is for sure: you won't get a cabana at the beach club. Those alone are by death only and usually part of a will.

At westchester, there is a review process in which you will be allowed to partake in the club but will be scrutinized to ensure you are acceptable. This sounds worse than it is; just be sociable and don't act like a jerk. The wait in between application and acceptance can be long, you might be placed on a waiting list.

Initiation is about 100k, sounds high but is actually pretty par for the course (no pun intended) when it comes to highly rated golf clubs. Annual dues about 10-15k, as well as minimums for dining.

The main path to membership is for your lead sponsor bringing you out to play as a guest with two other members on a few occasions and hopefully those other members will co-sponsor. Really helps to be a 24 or better.

Hard club to join. Need to have at least one very enthusiastic and committed sponsors. Living in the city you don't have access to the easiest way to meet such a member - the parent association at Rye Country Day or Greenwich Day, the rich-bro-sports-dad mafia for Mamaroneck, Rye Neck, Rye and Harrison schools - but you could try to join a club in the city that has lots of WCC members - NYAC, NYR&T, Metropolis, University, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn or Cornell

Know Westchester Country Club?

The filings tell us what the club collected. They cannot tell us the fee, the dues, or how long the list really is. Members and applicants supply that. It takes a minute, it's anonymous, and it makes the next person's search better.
